The NSW hot-water upgrade incentive can reduce the cost of eligible upgrades. Existing equipment, the selected model and installation pathway affect eligibility. A minimum customer contribution is required, and the installer should explain the discount in the quote.
Federal certificates are a separate consideration.
Eligible solar water heaters and air-source heat pumps may qualify for small-scale technology certificates. Check the current product register and applicable installation requirements. Do not assume every model or installation qualifies.
Keep the paperwork clear.
Ask who handles eligibility checks, any nomination or assignment paperwork, and how each incentive is shown. If more than one programme is involved, have the installer confirm that they can be combined for your installation.
